Using symbols on license plates will allow people of all ages, languages and abilities to easily identify characters on the plates in a time of crisis.

Letters and numbers are also in fact…symbols. Letters represent sounds which we use to form words, numbers represent quantities, but we do not use them as such on general issue license plates.

Gary Richard, inventor of EZ-ID

EZ-ID is a new license plate format which uses universally recognizable symbols, along with alpha numeric characters, to give a graphic that even young children can recognize, remember and report.

Not only can children as young as 2 ½ years old identify such symbols, but adults across all languages, nationalities and cultures, those who are dyslexic or seeing the image in their rear view mirror, or distracted in a time of crisis will be able to easily recall the symbols.
